Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Laws
The Law degree structure and Law unit offerings have been approved by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board and the Legal Profession Admission Board (NSW).
This course is currently accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and approved by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) as a suitable program of study for the purpose of registration as a psychologist. Please note that a minimum six-year sequence of education and training in psychology is required for an individual to become eligible for general registration as a psychologist in Australia.
Students in Sydney undertake their Psychological Science units at the Strathfield campus and their Law units at the North Sydney campus.

1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:
New South Wales
- Prerequisites: English (Standard)(Band 2) or English (Advanced)(Band 2) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) (Band 3)
Victoria
- Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or 25 in any other English.
International students need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
2. Completion Requirements
To qualify for the double degree a student must complete 400 cp as follows:
- 160 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Psychological Science Degree, consisting of:
- 140 cp from Bachelor of Psychological Science Core Units;
- 20 cp University Core Curriculum Units; and
- 240 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Laws, consisting of:
- 200 cp from Law Compulsory Units;
- 30 cp from Law Elective Units;
- 10 cp from COUN106 Introduction to Counselling; and
- At least two 0 cp Pro Bono/Legal Professional Experience Units after the first year of the double degree.
3. Admission Requirements - Honours Degree
To be eligible to apply for admission to the Bachelor (Honours) degree, a student must have completed at least 120 cp of LAWS units from the Bachelor of Laws degree, with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 5.75.
4. Completion Requirements - Honours Degree
To qualify for the double degree with Laws (Honours), a student must complete 410 cp as follows:
- 160 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Psychological Science Degree, consisting of:
- 140 cp from Bachelor of Psychological Science Core Units; and
- 20 cp University Core Curriculum Units; and
- 250 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Laws, consisting of:
- 160 cp from Law Compulsory Units (excluding LAWS302, LAWS404, LAWS405 and LAWS407)
- 80 cp from Law Honours Units;
- 10 cp from COUN106 Introduction to Counselling1; and
- At least two 0 cp Pro Bono/Legal Professional Experience Units after the first year of the double degree.
5. Progression Requirements
Students normally complete a unit or units at an introductory level (100-level) in an approved sequence before undertaking advanced level units (200 or 300-level) in that sequence.
In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the relevant Academy or School Committee.
