The Law degree structure and Law unit offerings have been approved by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board and the Legal Profession Admission Board (NSW).
Students in Sydney undertake their Arts units at the Strathfield campus and their Law units at the North Sydney campus.

1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:
New South Wales
- Prerequisites: English (Standard) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) (Band 4)
Victoria
- Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or 25 in any other English.
International students need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
2. Completion Requirements
To qualify for the degrees, a student must complete 400 cp consisting of:
- 160 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts, consisting of:
- 80 cp from a Bachelor of Arts Major;
- 40 cp from a Bachelor of Arts Minor;
- 20 cp of University Core Curriculum Units; and
- 20 cp Electives chosen from other units listed in the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Arts.
- 240 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Laws, consisting of:
- 200 cp from Law Compulsory Units;
- 30 cp from Law Elective Units
- 10 cp from General Elective Units; and
- At least two 0 cp Pro Bono/Legal Professional Experience Units after the first year of the degrees.
3. Admission Requirements of the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree
To be eligible to apply for admission to the Bachelor (Honours) degree, a student must have completed at least 120 cp of LAWS units from the Bachelor of Laws degree, with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 5.75.
4. Requirements for Completion of the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree
To qualify for the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree, a student must complete 320 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 160 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts, consisting of:
- 80 cp from a Bachelor of Arts Major;
- 40 cp from a Bachelor of Arts Minor;
- 20 cp of University Core Curriculum Units; and
- 20 cp Electives chosen from other units listed in the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Arts.
- 240 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Laws (Honours), consisting of:
- 160 cp from Law Compulsory Units (excluding LAWS302, LAWS404, LAWS405 and LAWS407); and
- 80 cp from Law Honours Units;
- At least two 0 cp Pro Bono/Legal Professional Experience Units after the first year of the degree.
5. Progression within the Course
Students normally complete a unit or units at an introductory level (100-level) in an approved sequence before undertaking advanced level units (200 or 300-level) in that sequence.
In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the relevant Academy or School Committee.
