EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Definitions
“Major”: 80 cp from prescribed units in one discipline or approved interdisciplinary area, normally including at least 10 cp at introductory level and at least 60cp at advanced level.
“Minor”: 40 cp from prescribed units in one discipline or approved interdisciplinary area, normally including at least 10 cp at introductory level and at least 20 cp at advanced level.
2. Requirements of Completion of the Degree 28
To qualify for the degree, a student must complete:
(1) | 320 cp consisting of: | ||
(a) | 160 cp in Arts units, consisting of a Major in History or Literature, a Minor in Indigenous Studies plus four units from the Bachelor of Arts which may be | ||
(i) | another Minor, or | ||
(ii) | two units of Sociology and two other electives; | ||
and | |||
(b) | 160 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of: | ||
(i) | 80 cp from Education Studies units; and | ||
(ii) | 60 cp from Curriculum Studies units; and | ||
(iii) | 20 cp Internship; | ||
and | |||
(2) | |||
(i) | 3 Professional Experience units; and | ||
(ii) | 1 Community Engagement unit. |

28Requirements for working with children: All students enrolled must have the appropriate approvals before they may enter a classroom. In NSW it is: Working with Children Check.
29The prerequisite requirement for SOCI107 Sociological Research Methods will be waived for the students enrolled in the Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Studies).
3020 cp are to be taken from one Curriculum and Teaching Studies area which builds on the discipline minor already taken.To be eligible to enrol in a Curriculum and Teaching Studies sequence, a student must either have satisfactorily completed the prerequisite study prescribed for that Curriculum and Teaching Study or be able to demonstrate knowledge or skills approved by the Course Co-ordinator as equivalent. In the case of Religious Education, the designated Theological Studies units provide co-requisites.
