ACUcom

The University offers a range of continuing education courses and educational services to the wider community through ACUcom which has offices at the following campuses Brisbane, North Sydney and Melbourne. Information should be sought from those offices.

 

ACUcom also delivers pathway courses for overseas students in ELICOS (English language) and Diploma..

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – Diploma Courses

ACUcom offer pathway programmes for eventual degree entry through the following courses:

Diploma in Nursing

Advanced Diploma in Nursing

Diploma in Business

Diploma in Educational Studies

Diploma in Environmental Science

Diploma in Information Systems

Diploma in Liberal Studies

Diploma in Social Science

Diploma in visual Arts and Design

 

Applications from international students are assessed on the basis of the applicant’s academic qualifications and proficiency in English.

 

Diploma entry is based on:

·         the satisfactory completion of the equivalent of twelve years of schooling at a comparable entry level to that applying to local Australian students. A pass rate of 50% is the minimum academic requirement;

·         proficiency in English – normally an academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall result of 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in all bands) or Testing of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 525 (190 computer based score) is the minimum entry requirement to diploma courses.

ACUonline

ACUonline is the online education arm of Australian Catholic University. ACUonline enables students to study award courses or professional development units fully online through the Internet. ACUonline gives students the opportunity to study either fully online or in mixed mode (both online and on-campus). Currently ACUonline offer over 500 units (or part thereof) in mixed mode delivery as well as 15 fully online postgraduate courses. Applications into courses and enrolments into units are completed online and some students may be eligible for fee assistance. ACUonline offers online technical support seven days a week. The University is establishing a national strategy to maintain its relationship with its graduates.

 

Foundation

The Senate has established a Foundation to encourage and foster the continuing interest and financial support of persons concerned to advance and promote the objects and mission of the University. The role of the Foundation is to nurture diverse areas of interest by providing a focus for individual, corporate and community energy and funds.
